Driving from Miri to Brunei
Crossing by car involves the traveller, the vehicle and the current online entry steps. Before leaving Miri, check the Brunei Exit and Entry System (EES) instructions, the E-Arrival requirements and the documents that apply to the driver and vehicle.
Vehicle checklist
- Each traveller’s valid passport and E-Arrival confirmation.
- Vehicle registration document.
- Driver’s licence and written owner authorisation when applicable.
- Insurance or cross-border vehicle documents required for the trip.
- Accommodation and return-route information.
- EES vehicle details, receipt or confirmation if the current process asks for them.
- Visa or other permission when the traveller’s passport or purpose requires it.
Private cars, borrowed cars, company vehicles, rental vehicles, motorcycles and commercial trips can have different requirements. If the owner is not travelling, obtain written authorisation before reaching the border.
An EES submission or receipt is not an automatic entry decision. Officers can check the vehicle, passengers, purpose and supporting documents. Do not promise that a vehicle will be admitted, that a queue will be short or that an online receipt guarantees passage.
